American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons

American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) Annual Meeting is organized by American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) and would be held during Aug 31- 03 Sep, 2021 at San Diego Convention Center, San Diego, California USA.     Roy Williams

    Former Championship-winning Coach, UNC Men’s Basketball

    Roy Williams retired on April 1, 2021, with the third-most wins by a Division I head coach and the sixth-highest winning percentage in college basketball history. Inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2007, Williams was a college head coach for 33 seasons at two of the three winningest programs in the sport’s history. He won 418 games in 15 seasons at Kansas from 1988-2003 and 485 games in 18 seasons at UNC, his alma mater, from 2003-21. He is the second-winningest coach all-time at Carolina and is now third at KU. He is the only coach in college basketball history to win 400 games at two schools.

    ADA Needs

    San Diego has ADA accessible guestrooms at every hotel. Please specify your needs when making your reservations.

     

    Airlines

    Visit  Corp Trav or call (800)318-3846 to make your reservation for the 2021 Annual Meeting in San Diego. A per reservation service fee of $15 (online) and $32 (telephone) is charged.

     

    Airport

    The San Diego International Airport (Lindbergh Field) is located 4 miles (10 minutes) from downtown San Diego. Curfew restrictions prohibit late night and early morning takeoffs between the hours of 11:30 PM and 6:30 AM.

    Airport Shuttles are an economical way to get to your hotel from the airport with rate ranging $14-$20 one-way.

     

    Attire

    Professional attire is appropriate at the meeting and to visit the exhibit hall. Some restaurants require coats and ties for gentleman, but most welcome casual attire. Check each restaurant’s policy when making reservations.

    Hotel Shuttles

    Shuttles run between the hotels and the San Diego Convention Center starting Tuesday, August 31, at 6:30 AM through Friday, September 3, at 5:30 PM.

     

    Rideshare Service

    Companies, like Uber and Lyft, also provide service from the airport to downtown for $10-$21, according to the location of your hotel.

     

    Taxi Service

    Taxis from the airport costs $17-$25 (one-way). Many companies provide taxicab service at San Diego International Airport. If you need a taxi, simply follow the signs leading to the Transportation Plazas. A Transportation Coordinator will place you with the first available taxi, unless you specify a particular taxicab company.

     

    Weather

    The average temperature in the San Diego area at the end of August is 70 degrees Fahrenheit, with an average high of 77 and an average low of 67. Pack an umbrella for the possibility of rain showers.
